There is a deep blue square 20x20 inch pillow in the frame. There is a pattern on the face of the pillow created using a fanned ruffed grouse tail on the bottom of the pillow--imagine a semi-circle. And coming out of the top of the pillow, in a triangle formation, are pheasant feathers. The tallest feather is in the center, flanking out to shorter feathers on each edge.
***Each pillow is slightly different because they are individually printed with the sun. The feathers leave a white negative image ranging in exposure of detail surrounded by deep blue. I arrange every feather on EACH textile piece--and develop the image on the fabric with sunlight. My artwork is inspired by the beauty of it's subject: feathers. The feathers come from ethically harvested wild birds; harvested by myself, my husband, or a close friend.
Fun fact: Some of the pillow names are named after some of my favorite recipes we made with the birds.
