Using the sun and ethically harvested ferns, I develop the image of the fern on the fabric with the sun. Everything the sun touches turns a deep blue, leaving a white negative of the fern. This is a 20x20 inch pillow. An image of a huge fern is printed on the fabric. The fern is a a beautiful silhouette, the color of the sky, surrounded by a galaxy of deep blue.
***Each pillow is slightly different because they are individually printed with sunlight. Everything the sun touches develops into the deep blue. The fern leaves a white-ish negative image ranging in exposure of detail surrounded by deep blue. I arrange the fern on EACH textile piece. My artwork is inspired by the beauty of it's subject: nature. The ferns were cut from a wild fern forest in Alpine, Wyoming.
